I bought this book after a "skinny" friend of mine told me about it at a party. She lost 15 lbs in 2 1/2 months. At the time, I was 6 months pregnant with my 3rd child and had started my 3rd pregnancy about 50 lbs overweight. At the time she told me about this book, I was constantly exhausted, bloated, my blood pressure had increased and I was having right hip/leg sciatica problems.
I bought the book and read it cover to cover. Being pregnant (and not officially able to diet) I did an experiment - I didn't do the jump start but reduced my calories to 1950 per day (1600 recommended + 350 additional for pregnancy) and ate in the manner the book recommended(MUFAs, less than 4 grams saturated fat per meal, sodium below 2300 mg per day, etc...).
WOW! I NEVER FELT HUNGRY OR DEPRIVED!!! Within 30 days, I had massive amounts of energy, I lost 1 inch off my hips and 1 inch off each thigh, my blood pressure was normal, my sciatica was gone and I lost 2 lbs per my doctor's office.
I love that this book gives you a plan, tells you when to eat, what to eat and how much to eat. I plan to do the full plan as stated in the book after I deliver my 3rd child and am very excited because I know I will actually lose weight this time.
