What I like about this book is that it is kid-appropriate in terms of ideas, context, and vocabularly, without being preachy or losing sight of the fact that C.S. Lewis himself was never preachy either. Like Lewis, this author is able to talk about theology in everyday words that make it seem like talking about God is the most natural thing in the world. It's not the sort of look that you'd probably want to just hand over to your kids (especially if they're thinking that it's going to be a storybook), but it's a great bedtime book, the sort of book that leads to all sorts of interesting discussions with my kids and helps us structure our night-time prayers. Thanks, Mr. McIntosh--this is book has been a great gift to our family. I can see my kids remembering Following Aslan nights their whole life.
