If you want to know how to determine the right diet for you, this is the book. The author gives a really good overview of the various diets out there, macrobiotic, vegetarian, low-carb, etc. to help you understand the strengths and weaknesses of each approach and determine which one is right for you. You really get a deep understanding of the basic elements of each diet as well as the health properties of a variety of foods like eggplant, nightshades, etc. I left this book with a deeper understanding of nutrition and how to eat in a way that is right for my body. She is not dogmatic about any approach, but rather objective and nuanced about the strengths and weakness of each. So in the end, you are empowered to know what is right for you, how to create the diet that is right for your own health needs. Her advice is not hard to implement. She basically empowers you with the information you need to create the right diet and listen to your body.
