Book Review: Absolute Favorite Cookbook. Ever.

I don't know anything at all about Nigella Lawson - this book was a gift. That said, it's chatty, but the chatter contains a lot of valuable information about how to change up a dish, or how to serve it, or a discussion of the ingredients, etc. Very useful and not in the least bit over the top.
I've been cooking avidly for well over 30 years and have amassed a sizeable collection of cookbooks over that time. This one is, hands-down, my favorite. As with all cookbooks, I found some of the recipes to be a bust. The vast majority, however, are terrific. The book is absolutely packed with low-effort, high-payoff culinary treats. It's become a joke in the house - every time I serve up one of these dishes, my husband swears up and down that it's his very favorite dish, ever. He's getting to where he can identify the dishes that I make from this book, even ones that I haven't made before. What they have in common is a focus on seasonally-fresh fruits and vegetables, an appealing simplicity, and an amazing flavor explosion.
Several of the recipes - including the Chicken with Lemon and Rosemary, the Garlic and Lemon Chicken, the Zaatar Chicken, and the Golden Jubilee Chicken have been added to my Go-To list for dishes to serve to company...an amazing feat, given that I usually don't like chicken, let alone want to serve it to a guest! I've actually had several of my dinner guests tell me that they'd like a copy of the cookbook as a holiday gift - and I can't imagine a better recommendation than that.
