Book Review: I think I know this guy

This is one of the best books I have ever read. John Sanders Jr. is the guy next door, your cousin, the bartender in your favorite bar. This book shows the journey Sanders Jr. takes from a childhood with an abusive father, to his father's death and burial.
The book takes place on Staten Island and besides an excellent story line the book takes you to the beaches and the neighborhoods of this Island. I felt I was there beside John, walking down Richmond Avenue.
Somehow Mr. Loehfelm conveys a truly believable story without pandering or feeling sorry for the guy. Interspersed with the anger and resentment and cockiness is just the right touch of humor.
Not only will you feel you know this guy, you will also see parts of yourself in Sanders Jr. A definite 5-star review!
