Book Reviews of Friend or Foe

Book Review: Are You Down For Me?
Summary: 4 Stars

Corey 'Cee' Banks, in FRIEND OR FOE by D. L. Moore, is a well respected hustler who basically runs the town he lives in. He is kind, fair and well liked. Not only is Cee a hustler but also a smart and savvy business owner. Cee has it made; a nice home, beautiful girlfriend, more money than he can count and is surrounded by a circle of friends he knows has his back.

When Cee's girlfriend, Keisha, is killed in a robbery attempt he is devastated beyond belief. He wonders how he will be able to go on without the love of his life. Just when he thinks things are bad they get worse, his stores are robbed and someone is trying to kill him. Several instances happen that make it impossible for him to trust anyone, even those he considers close friends. Life as he knows it has changed for the worst in a matter of days. He is determined to find out who is jealous of him and is out to get him. Unfortunately for him, it could be someone he least expects.

FRIEND OR FOE is a story of trust, friendship and loyalty. The story was fast-paced and well-written with memorable characters. It shows how hard it is when you are on top to trust those closest to you. Just like in real life you have to be careful who you associate yourself with and who you call a friend, because people can act like a friend and all the while be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Kudos to Moore on his debut novel. He has done an awesome job depicting the good and bad of being a big time hustler.
