Book Reviews of From Here to Here: Turning Toward Enlightenment

Book Review: A Case of Mistaken Identity
Summary: 5 Stars

Like many, i have been a so-called "Seeker" for some time now. Each new book that i would read or Satsang i would attend would leave me with a "spiritual experience", or a deeper temporary understanding, but the confusing terminology from differing traditions actually pointed me away from what i was seeking. The fact that "we" are really Pure Awareness that has been identified with a "body-mind" most of our lives was never fully understood.

Once this concept intellectually made sense, the quest of "finding out who you really are", was to me, like chasing my own shadow. It is difficult enough to rationally accept that you are not who you thought you were, but to try to convince your illusory self that it needs to die, or at least give up control, is quite another thing.

In "From Here to Here, Turning Towards Enlightenment" Gary Crowley guides us through easy to follow, logical scientific explanations and mind-blowing graphics. The notion that we have any conscious will is seen as an illusion, and just part of our wiring. He then goes on to remove the spiritual blinders some of us have put on, and points clearly to "what is".

If you don't want to give up the all the spiritual trappings that traditionally go with "becoming Enlightened" then this book is not for you. However, if you are ready to open you eyes and get a gentle "nudge" in the right direction, and maybe become aware of who you really are, this book is definitely for you. I highly recommend it.
