Book Review: Tiresome Tale

I read this book with my book club and I was one of eight who didn't like it. Perhaps the reason is I taught in an English public boarding school for several years and found the subject, good and evil, singularly uninteresting. The main character did not have enough motivation to wreak all the havoc he did. The story and the manner of its exposition was confusing and, for me ultimately unconvincing. Not enough emphasis was put on the main character's sexual identity issues. Pages and pages of missed opportunities for conflict. This book did not fly with me, at all.
