Book Review: Great action, but lacking in depth

Ghosts of Onyx provides another revealing look into the Halo universe as its predecessors had. While having a good amount of action and scientific fluff, I felt it lacked in character identity and story. It seemed to be more of a "cause and effect" book. This event happened which cause the creation of this department which caused the formation and death of this battalion. While it was a fun book to read it just felt a bit dry and empty. I loved the new information it provided for the halo saga, but as a book it was average.Book Review: Recommended to anyone who loves action

In the universe of the book Halo, the planet Earth is waging a war against the brutal alien race, the Covenant. The UNSC is running low on spartans and the program goes public. This new generation of spartans, SPARTAN IIIs, are being trained on the abandoned planet Onyx. But when the legendary Master Chief destroys the ring planet Halo, something dangerous is triggered inside Onyx that only the toughest spartans can destroy.
I enjoyed this book more than other books I have read because of the action and because i like the game Halo. Some of my favorite characters were Master Chief, Kurt, and Tom. They are all spartans that are fighting on the planet Onyx. The genre of this book is Sci-Fi, and I would recommend it to an older age group because of the complicated words and graphic violence.
In conclusion this book is stunning, shocking, and keeps you on the edge of your seat and I would recommend it, hands down.
