Purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my boss and he LOVED it! He's a huge Hunter Thompson fan but hadn't seen the book yet since it was only out a couple months. The book is filled with an incredible collection of Thompson's personal photographs and excerpts from his books that take the reader on an emotional journey of his life. Thompson fans will not be disappointed!Book Review: Poorly packaged

I received the book in an oversized box with one air pillow for protection. With no packing material to prevent the book from sliding in the box side to side the top binding edge was damaged. Very disappointing.
The content of the book was only maginal at best.

I love HST as much as anybody, but this book is an overpriced waste of space. It does contain some interesting pictures, but that's about all it has going for it. Interspersed among the photos are some quotes by HST in big fonts that take up an entire page. If you have read HST's books or anything about him, there is really nothing new or interesting here. Save yourself some money and flip through this one in your local book shop.... 10 minutes and you're done. There is absolutely no reason to actually BUY it.Book Review: Stunning and GORGEOUS book!

"Gonzo" is almost a coffee table book. It's worth EVERY penny! Beautiful pictures of HST and his first wife, Sandy and their son Juan. The images are glorious and creative. Don't be distracted by the price. BUY IT! (HST would approve :o)
