This book is the tops for this genre! It is the perfect book to pick up and read on the plane, in a train, on the beach ... anywhere you want to have a good time. It is full of twists and turns you don't expect, with the right amount of romance. It's a well written story that you don't want to put down, and in the end, you find it satisfying and looking forward to Mia King's next novel!Book Review: Good Things is Very Good!

Good Things is a delightful whirl through the adventures of the hearth and the heart. At times burning with desire and at others, comically funny, it's easy to relate to Deidre McIntosh, the fearless heroine who is a cross between Martha Stewart and Rachel Ray with a strong heaping of Joy Behar thrown in for realistic measure.
In early chapters, Deidre's life is literally brimming with success, friends, prosperity, and a fabulous apartment. When the executive producer's ax unexpectedly falls on her TV show leaving her broke and financially insecure, she discovers what the rest of us know all too well: the true test of your soul is when life doesn't go as planned.
As our Deidre tries to rebound, she mixes up her life once again with recipes to make you drool; chocolate cherry crackle cookies, anyone? (see p. 331). Ahh, and with a love life starting to stir and new ideas percolating, she is well on her way to her next adventure. Yes, it's a good thing!

I am an avid reader and am usually loyal to the authors I know and love. I am usually hesitant to try new authors. This was not the case with Mia King. I am really glad I gave her a chance and purchased this book! It was absolutely terrific! The storyline was great!.. It had humor,romance,intrique and so much more! To top if off, thrown into the mix were wonderful recipes and awesome quotes to start off each chapter! I am looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future. I just finished Good Things and I loved it. We picked it as our May bookclub book and it is one of the best we've picked recently (Catching Genius is another recent good pick). I loved the characters and the story and was sad when I finished it. I hope she is planning on doing a sequel; I would love to see how Deidre handles planning a wedding, producting her show, launching products and whatever else life throws at her. I also love that recipes were included and I can't wait to try them. I'll be waiting to see what her next book is.
