Book Review: Good thing I got Good Things on vacation

I picked up Good Things while on vacation on the Big Island - lured by its local authorship and a clerk's response that she'd just gotten the shipment and it was nearly sold out. I'd spied the last copy on a white wicker chair and grabbed it.
It's a great, fast, easy read with plenty of life lessons - mostly that the hiccups in life are usually replaced with deep invigorating breaths of fresh air.
The writing is creative and descriptive.
I loved it so much that I wanted to share it with the hostesses at our hotel, so I didn't get a chance to try the recipes. They did sound awesome.
Good Things is a great book if you have thirty minutes while the baby is napping, 15 minutes as you wait in a doctors office or are overlooking the Pacific. Should I keep watching for whales or keep reading? Tough one!

I found it hard to put Mia King's debut novel down! Good Things is a feel good book that you will just want to curl up with in the most comfortable spot in your home and read straight through. And with the recipes included this is definitely a book that keeps on giving.

With my two kids running around I rarely have time to read, but this book which was recommended by a friend, was just what I needed to stop and enjoy one of my favorite pasttimes - The writing is so descriptive and the ups and downs of Deidre's road to self-discovery were enough to keep me glued to the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone !Book Review: Great book by a great author!
