Book Reviews of Goodnight MoonBook Review: A prized possession for any young child! Summary: 5 Stars
As a children's book author and mom I admire the writings of Margaret Wise Brown for years. Margaret created one of the most beloved children's book that has held a special place in our hearts. I remember reading this countless times to my girls when they were younger. I think it's a timeless story and helps young children feel more comfort before bedtime. I know with my youngest daughter she had fears of the dark and bed time was anxiety provoking for her. We had to read Goodnight moon each night. Both my girls loved looking at all the little details in the pictures and finding and saying goodnight to all characters and objects in the book. They especially enjoyed the goodnight nobody page! What a clever ending to a creative bedtime story. It's a must have for any young child!
Book Review: A quiet masterpiece Summary: 5 Stars
The beautiful book is so simple, in both words and illustrations, that it is almost stark, but rather that making the book cold, the style simply strips away everything that is extraneous, leaving behind a warmth and tenderness that has now delighted several generations of children.
There are many good children's books and a number of great ones. This one, however, transcends into the realm of indispensible literature for the very young. This is one of a handful of books that one must--absolutely must--not only read but own and cherish.
Book Review: A timeless children's book Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter absolutely loved having me read this book to her when she was growing up, and took great pleasure when she could finally read it herself with me at her side. She now has a daughter of her own, and this is the very first book that she and her husband bought to read to her. That basically tells you the impression that this book made upon my daughter as a child. I have read some of the negative reviews, and can say only that based on my own experience (my son liked the book also when he was growing up), this is a timeless children's book that will delight any child.
Book Review: Accepting Death Summary: 5 Stars
A monumental work of illustration that prepares children to accept that the lights going out forever and that everything around them is ephemeral and though delightful, will one day vanish
Goodnight Moon is about breathing and how to fill a room and be alive when you are alive
About playing and then at last, saying goodbye to playing
Is a good book full of Much Heart
Goodnight, Moon
Goodnight, Room
Book Review: An Old Favorite Summary: 5 Stars
When I was a little girl, I would listen to my mom read this book to my younger brother. I think she read it every night for about 3-4 years!! I am 35 now and have a son of my own...we read it often. Funny how things come full circle. This book will ALWAYS be the OFFICIAL bedtime story.
