Book Reviews of Green for Life

Book Review: A Basic Intro to Green Smoothies
Summary: 3 Stars

Easy to read, simple, probably functions best as a basic primer for green smoothies. Interestingly, the author includes a section on "Testimonials of Roseburg Study Participants," and many of these testimonials paint a more subdued, realistic picture regarding the benefits of drinking green smoothies. Quite a contract to the rest of the book, which purports that green smoothies are the answer to all of life's ills. However, the writing style is engaging and the author generously credits other sources such as Ann Wigmore.

Book Review: A Great Way to Transition
Summary: 5 Stars

For years, I have had the "knowledge" in regards to eating more raw healthy foods, but cravings have gotten in the way of the type of success I've dreamed of. Victoria changed my perspective by showing we can focus our concentration on good health by drinking delicious green smoothies. The cravings are fading faster than I could have imagined. IN addition, I turned my neighbor on to this book. She came for a visit after two weeks of green smoothies, and said she was eternally grateful, let me know that out of all the things I've done for her, turning her on to this book was the greatest. Drinking the smoothies have already changed her life on every level. Get this book to see how easy improving you health can be.

Book Review: A Must Read!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book truly is a must read for anyone considering a raw food or part raw food lifestyle. If you are on the fence, this book will give you all the information you need to make your informed and educated decision. Victoria is one of the forerunners in bringing this lifestyle to the masses.

Book Review: A Way to Get Lots of Greens
Summary: 5 Stars

The bottom line is that you will learn how to get lots of greens in a way that tastes and feels good. I thought my weight had leveled and reached its ideal. I was slim. Then I started drinking green smoothies and dropped another couple pounds and lost another half inch off my waist.

I recommend this book.

Book Review: A clear inspiration and great resource to readers who desire to lead healthier lives
Summary: 5 Stars

"Green For Life" is a revolutionary but simple idea whose time is come. Raw foods enthusiast author Victoria Boutenko has compared a standard American diet with the diet of wild chimpanzees and discovered, guess what, an outstanding difference is the percentage of greens and blossoms that are eaten by wild chimps. Her conclusion is that even raw foods consumers need to include substantially more greens in their diet. Her suggested series of 23 green smoothie recipes (containing ingredients such as kale, avocado, parsley, garlic, or strawberries, bananas, romaine and water), are easy to make and tasty to drink. The many benefits of greens consumption are clearly outlined, and by blending the greens, all the nutrients can be absorbed more easily. "Green for Life" is filled with testimonials and is a finalist in the Health/Medicine/Nutrition category of the 2006 Independent Book Publisher Awards. It is a clear inspiration and great resource to readers who desire to lead healthier lives, and a welcome addition to personal reference collections for the health-conscious consumer.
