Book Review: A great find! Summary: 5 Stars
I happened across this book doing a web search on health and I'm glad I did. I have incorporated far more fruits and vegetables into my life every day by drinking a quart or more of green smoothies. Thank you Victoria for this good idea for greater health. I ordered 3 books at once and gave them to friends who are all getting on the green smoothie band wagon as well.
Book Review: A ground-breaking book Summary: 5 Stars
Victoria Boutenko has helped us all to understand the philosophy of the living foods diet; and she has shown us how to make the transition to it: green smoothies. My doctor has been converting his patients to the living foods diet using these green smoothies; so we all bless Victoria for showing us how to make them. She also explains why we should be eating only living foods, and why we feel so much better when we do. She has lots of testimonials from people who have recovered from excruciating illnesses -- even terminal illnesses -- by switching to a living foods diet, with the help of green smoothies. I highly recommend this book first to anyone who is considering "going raw." After you have finished "Green for Life," I recommend reading Dr. Douglas Graham's wonderful book, "The 80/10/10 Diet," to obtain even more appreciation of living foods.
Book Review: A must Read!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
A great book for those who care about their health, and the health of their family. You will learn so much, and if you practice what the book says, you can make yourself very well if you are sick, and better if you are average. Smoothies are fun to drink, and a snap to make.
If you are looking for a book to heal the outside, or to make yourself look young, I can recommend this book too - Eating For Youth And Beauty
Enjoy both!
Book Review: A skeptic now drinking green smoothies Summary: 4 Stars
I write this as a person very skeptical of any sort of fad diet or extreme dieting change. I started reading about the Abs diet and lost 20 pounds loosely using those guidelines, but I was still having stomach pain from what I can only assume is the high protein content. I am still skeptical of the raw food movement, but I find Victoria's reasoning convincing and figured it wouldn't hurt me to try it for a couple of weeks. The green smoothies are incredibly satisfying and delicious. Whether it was the placebo effect or the green smoothies, I felt better and more satisified (with less calories and more nutrients!) and her green for life principles are something that I will continue to integrate into my diet. They can also be used as a detox for a short period of time, though you won't crave junk again and might just stick with the greens!
