I'm bucking the popular assessment here. I read a dozen YA novels during the recent holidays, and this was my least favorite. In fact, I thought it was just silly, and not in an entertaining way. The sappy ending triggered my gag reflex. The other books I read were much better and more entertaining: "Z for Zachariah," "When Zachary Beaver Came to Town," "Out of the Dust," "Mind Games," "Just Ella." Even the ones that have already slipped out of my mind were better than "Gypsy Rizka." I wish that one would slip out of my mind.
