Book Reviews of Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 1)Book Review: Slow to start, but addicting to the end Summary: 5 StarsI bought this book on the way to the airport, and to be honest - without reading the back. The cover art looked cool, and so I decided to take a chance. For the first five pages or so, I thought I had made a mistake. Then I got hooked. I got hooked on Bones, whose sexiness came through even when not intended, and on Cat, whose confusion and feistiness drew a few grins. (People definitely look at you strangely when you are reading and laughing on a plane.) The fight scenes were great, the love scenes were hot, and the plot was well developed. All in all, a great book, and I cannot WAIT for the next installment in the series!!
Book Review: Funny and just a great read Summary: 4 StarsI must say when I first bought this book I was not really into it. It took about 30 pages into it for me to get caught in the book. For a first novel Frost did a wonderful job and by no means should this book be in the Romance section. It has its romance but if LKH is considered Fantasy so should this book. If you liked the Mercy series by Patrica Briggs you will like this book. If you like the sookie books this book is for you as well. Though it starts out hard to read once you pass the page 30 be prepared to not put it down and have a good laugh if you have a some what dark sense of humor. But if you are in need of a book and you are waiting for your author to drop a new book go out and get this one. Oh and be prepared to read it in one or two sittings.
The reason I gave it four stars is because I am a firm believer that a five stars is reserved for such greatness as Burst, Butcher, Tolken etc. Frost may very well join those authors if she keeps up the humor that i love so very much.
Book Review: Awesome book - a must read Summary: 5 StarsI just finished reading this book, and I absolutely loved it. Cat is such a wonderfully developed heroine and it was a pleasure watching her grow as the book progressd. Some goes for Bones, since his character changed as the book went on, and there seemed to be so much chemistry between the two of them. And the dialogue was the best part - witty and hillarious. Read it, you won't regret it.
Book Review: Loved it!! Summary: 5 StarsI read many books that are similar in storyline but I have to say that I LOVED the quick witted Bones and the dialogue between him & Cat. I caught myself laughing out loud at times. I think this series will stand out from the rest.
Book Review: A Seriously Fun Book Summary: 5 StarsI'll be honest: I had a hard time getting into Halfway to the Grave. I read 25 pages or so and didn't really like either Cat or Bones at first. Well, I didn't dislike them, but I didn't love them either. So I put it down for a few days, and then picked it back up again.
When I did, I'm just glad I had time to read it in one (or nearly one) sitting because at that point there was no putting the book down again. The action, the character development, the relationship between Cat and Bones- all of it- just exploded and took off. The story was fun, fast and intense. Cat and Bones' romance is both hot and surprisingly tender. Plus, all the English slang always brought a smile to my face. The story itself races to an intense conclusion with a lot of action and quite a bit is set up (and left dangling, but in a good way) for the next book. I can't wait to read what happen next.
