Book Review: Good Spies Are Never Supposed to be Caught
Summary: 4 Stars

Harriet M. Welsh has always wanted to be a spy. She writes everything she knows about everyone in her notebook. One day one of her classmates finds Harriet's notebook and reads it out loud. Everyone is upset that she wrote blunt yet mean things about them, and nobody will talk to her or sit near her at lunch or in class. When her beloved nurse moves out, Harriet, who normally is a perfect student, starts doing mean things to her classmates. When she apologizes people eventually accept her. Louise Fitzhugh adds funny characters, great ideas, and real things you can relate to, making Harriet the Spy a great book that should not be missed.

Book Review: Good points and bad.
Summary: 2 Stars

Harriet is not a nice little girl. She seems to have some serious problems, most of them probably having to do with the fact that her parents don't seem to know how to raise a child--they seem to either ignore her or smother her.

However, the plot, although full of rather unpleasant events and attitudes, is realistic. People do behave that way, and talk that way, and to try to wrap your child up in a cocoon where they are insulated from everything negative and disagreeable is not a good idea. The child will, sooner or later, encounter people or events like this in real life, and having first done so in fiction s/he will be forearmed. I wouldn't advise feeding a child a literary diet only of this sort of story, but as a part of a balanced literary diet, it is certainly worthwhile.

Book Review: Greatest book of all !!
Summary: 5 Stars

Harriet the Spy is an 11 year old girl who keeps painful but true notes in her notebook. Soon her notebook falls into the wrong hands and everyone in her class, even her two best friends, are against her. Then she must pay them back, but is revenge the answer? Or will she give up her notebook? And will put her life right side up?

Harriet the Spy is a great book with adventure, comedy and friendship. This is a book you can't put down, you have to keep on reading. But this book also shows you that revenge only causes more trouble.
To find out the amazing ending, read the great book Harriet the Spy.

Book Review: Harriet The Spy
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is classic. I read it several years ago and it's still one of my favorite books. It really got me into writing...after reading it I got my own notebook, too! I've had one ever since.
This is really one of the GREATEST pre-teen books out there. It's realistic and WONDERFUL in every way. Everyone should read it...then read it's sequel, The Long Secret, and then Sport.
