Book Reviews of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4)Book Review: A bit of a roller coaster of excitement and boredom Summary: 3 StarsThis book starts out differently than the others, and adds a great deal of mystery and confusion that is not explained until the end of the book. This, however, keeps the reader on edge until the story has finished. The level of excitement rises at many points in the story, but is soon followed with long and tedious conversations. Thus making the storyline rather difficult to follow. This book is slightly different from the others in that at many points Rowling reveals many of the lesser known characters and gives they an almost vital role in the story. She also introduces some of the other magical schools and some of their students. This book is very enjoyable in some places, but others are slightly repetitive.
Book Review: I love this book! Summary: 5 StarsAfter a bit of a slow start, this book really gets going. It is totally gripping, and I could not put it down. It is a very large book, and probably aimed more at adults than at young children. Three are loads of twists and exciting revelations, and the ending leaves you reeling! I absolutely can't wait for the next one to come out so I can find out what is going to happen!
Book Review: It's a brilliant book, and its really exciting. Summary: 5 StarsWhen I picked it up, (8:00am, 8 July) I honestly could not put it down.I had to be nagged to put it down, and when I did eventually put it down, I thought of it. It was so exciting, that I almost finished it on the day I got it. Fabulous.
Book Review: Harry Potter turning progressively darker Summary: 4 StarsThe fourth volume in the Harry Potter series impresses not only by its girth but the continuing ability of author J.K Rowling to spin convincing stories from a format which was threatening to turn formularic. At 632 pages and with a noticably darker plot then previous episodes, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a recognition by the author that her primary audience are the adults who have propelled her to best seller status. The imagination and sly jokes in the narrative will continue to appeal, whilst younger children may well be put off the length of the novel and its bleak conclusion. For the older reader however, there is much to admire here and the novel is certainly wothy of its higher then previous price tag. The only question raised by the book is can Rowling continue this quality for the remaining three planned titles? In a word excellent.
Book Review: Yet another amazing read on the adventures of Harry Potter! Summary: 5 StarsWhen beginning to read this book, I felt that a long task lay ahead of me. But as I was reading I once again became enthralled within Harry's magical world of Hogwarts. I felt so many emotions; terror, humour, happiness and even jealousy, even suprise at an unexpected twist! If you want a book for all ages and standards, then I give you, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the best Harry Potter yet!
