Book Reviews of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4)Book Review: amazing Summary: 5 StarsThis book was amazing i have read all of the Harry Potter books and have to say this was the best. When i read the book i had to feel sorry for Harry when Ron was jealous... It came as a real shock that it was, actually i had better not say because if you have not read it, it will ruin the surprise. Voldemort is on the rise and i cannot wait for the next book to come out.
Book Review: Harry Potter - Bigger, Longer, Uncut & a WHOLE lot scarier! Summary: 5 StarsThe postman handed me my pre-ordered copy of The Goblet of Fire yesterday morning at about 10 o' clock. Since then I haven't had my nose out of it (at least until 2 o'clock this afternoon, when I finished it)! For a children's book to engage the attention of an adult to the exclusion of her Husband, eating, drinking, the Wimbledon tennis finals and two international Cricket matches involving England - it must be fairly good! At the risk of allowing the tone of this review to lower, it wasn't until my bladder made me feel like it was casting a "Cruciatus" curse on me that I remembered to go to the loo! So does Harry get the better of Snape? Does You-Know-Who try to throw his weight around again? Does Harry fall in love? Does Ron get incredibly embarrassed by his dress robes? and who does take Hermione to the Ball? Not telling. My only piece of advice is don't read it in the house on your own at night!
Book Review: A thoroughly enjoyable book Summary: 5 StarsHaving read all of the Harry Potter books so far, I started reading this one with a degree of expectancy-and I was not disappointed. I thought it was the best opening yet and it kept me enthralled about what was going to happen. The Quidditch World Cup was more enjoyable than I imagined. I think there should have been slightly more detail on what happened in the classes. The Triwizard Tournament was a nice break from the normal; I can't say that I looked forward to it though because I usually love my Quidditch. I liked the idea of an anxious Black and an imposter Moody. I'm not typing any more clues to the book's content, you'll just have to read it!
Book Review: Well worth the wait - roll on No. 5 Summary: 5 StarsAnother exciting story in the series and it was great that it was twice as long as the earlier books. All the old favourites are waiting at Hogwarts plus lots of new characters. Meeting Bill and Charlie Weasley at last is a plus. The Quidditch World cup is great fun at the start of the book but I did miss the usual trip to Diagon Alley. There was lots of humour in the book that will be appreciated by adults as well as the twists and turns to the plot to keep everyone on the edge of their seats. Much to my relief the reported death did not kill off the character I expected. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger so all fans will be even keener to get book 5 than they were to get book 4. Not my favourite so far but that is personal preference because it is an excellent book and a lot of people will not agree with me.
Book Review: Darker than the others... Summary: 5 StarsThis book is a new departure for the Harry Potter series. The others were fairly predictable in that in the last few pages, you knew that there'd be a big huge confrontation between Harry and Voldemort (in one of his many forms). HP4 is different in that in the others, you knew without a doubt that Harry'd come out on top, whereas in this one you actually do feel worried for Harry for a while.Plus the final sequences in the preceeding volumes always left you feeling positive, but this one made me feel concerned about the future of wizardkind. This is a fantastic book and I really enjoyed it, but I can't help feeling that it's without a doubt more suitable for older readers.
