I've had this book for 2 hours (pity the poor postman on his bike!!!) and it is fantastic - J K Rowling has lost none of the magic of the earlier books and from page one you are swept into Harry's world - amazing, brilliant...I can't find the words to describe it! This is the best Harry Potter book so far. I just couldn't put it down. It arrived in the post at 8am and I had read it all by 10:40. Its amazing. I actually cried when i read who died. If you have been spell-bound by the other four books in the series you MUST read this book too. It may not be such a good book for readers who have not yet entered Harry's world as it ties together a lot fromearlier books.

This is the best one in the series! Harry Potter has grown up drastically from the last book, the events ending the Goblet of Fire have affected Harry greatly. In OOTP Harry is angry, angry at the wizarding world who refuse to believe that Lord Voldemort is back. Arrival at Hogwarts does not help, instead Harry finds himself to be baited by the sinister new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher.
Beware Potter fans, the death of a very dear character is so so SOOOO sad. I was in tears reading it - I can't believe J.K killed the person! I suppose we will eventually find out why this character had to die.

The book arrived by post from Amazon on the day of release! My son started reading at 9am (the minute the postman dropped it off). It's 16:30 now and he's still reading not even leaving it alone to eat food. The story is very compelling and there are sporadic loud laughs being heard as he reads along.
Its so welcome that young people today have good quality literature that captures their imagination and allows them to enjoy the endagered art of reading. Congratulations J K Rowling and Well done Amazon for your prompt delivery service. Thank you
