Book Review: Reassuring, supportive, great voice, stands out by far among other CDs like this.

I just bought several guided imagery CDs. I put them all on my itunes as well as additional tracks that I downloaded in order to browse all/compare and decide which ones to start using. By far this CD and Belleruth's voice stood out among the many I was deciding between. Her voice and words immediately drew me in, allowed me to relax, and the way she/the text seemed to understand exactly the way I was feeling and what I've gone through (3 years of infertility, 4 miscarriages, and now facing a 2nd IVF treatment with some fear and anxiety) was uncanny. Lately I have been observing in myself more negative self talk than usual and I knew I needed to do something to combat it. Rather than just asking the listener to "let go" (ie NOT be stressed which can cause someone to then stress over being stressed!) she starts by acknowledging and validating the feelings one might have (and she was exactly right in my case!!). This was so reassuring and uplifting - to first be allowed to accept the feelings I have, THEN to let them go.
She empowers the process without making it feel goal oriented. There is a subtle balance between doing these meditations (or any other practice like this) "in order to get pregnant" and/or simply in order to find a way to "just be", to allow, to trust the path that we're on. This CD does this very well - you feel that doing these meditations brings you closer to your child but at the same time it makes "everything alright" regardless. A tough balance to strike!
I highly recommend. And to everyone on this journey I wish you the very best. It is one of the most difficult things I've ever gone through. Blessings to you all and I hope this CD will help.
