Book Reviews of Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child

Book Review: Absolutely Excellent!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great book and a must-have for all new parents. I got it when my daughter was 5-months old and wish it'd seen it sooner. Everything Dr. Weissbluth says makes sense and is easy to implement. Definitely worth the money.

Book Review: healthy sleep habits, HAPPY PARENT
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was reccomended to my by a father of two lovely girls that kept him awake during the night until he found this book. I bought this book four weeks after my baby was born (when the baby sleeping honey moon was wearing off and she was refusing to sleep during the day. I followed Dr. Weissbluth advice and now I have am the happy mother of a nine month old that sleeps from 8pm to 8am and takes two two-hour naps during the day, what a bliss!!.
It is an excellent book to learn about the basics of sleep (adult & child), what sleeping patterns to expect according to the baby's age and how to help your child to sleep well.

Book Review: Excellent!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best ever book on sleep for children. My 4 and a half year old has never slept properly. Sleep clinics and health visitors and dr's didn't have a clue what to do. I got this book about a year ago and - although he's not a perfect sleeper and probably never will be - he sleeps nine nights out of ten - I just wish I'd got this book before he was even born - amazing results, fabulous book!!!

Book Review: BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I strongly recommend this book for parents who are very short of sleep owing to their baby/child's abysmal sleeping patterns. After reading a number of other sleep manuals, this was the one that actually worked for me and my toddler - it got her out of the family bed, to sleep without needing breastfeeding back to sleep and to stop waking in the night. The book is non-patronising, offering calm, common-sense advice, with clear guidelines and plenty of real-life examples so you don't feel you're the only one going through it. It doesn't involve leaving children to scream for hours. The book's message is basically - remove the positive reason for waking up and the child will stop doing it.

I bought this book following a positive review from Amazon - ~I thought I would return the favour so someone else could benefit from this book's advice.

Book Review: Methodical explanations and varied solutions to problems
Summary: 5 Stars

After buying about every book about sleep under the sun, I've found this one to be the most comprehensive and clearly explained. It doesn't offer quick fix solutions (which tend to undermine your confidence if they don't work), but rather looks at how children sleep, the various problems and how you can tackle them. Dr Weissbluth has years of pediatric sleep research under his belt and provides plenty of case studies in the book which are realistic and capture the breadth of his experience. The tone of this book is not at all judgemental which is extremely reassuring when nothing seems to be working with getting your baby to sleep!
