I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Taylor's struggles, his life as a child and his determination to not give up on his wonderful talent. The man definitely has "soul", and I appreciate his sharing it and his gifts from God with us. I was a huge fan before I read the book, an even bigger one now. I found this to be a book that touches real life and reflects experiences that many of us can relate well to. It was an easy and enjoyable read. I recommend it to anyone who has a goal and aspirations to succeed at something special. For most of us, it's not easy or quick to achieve what we want, but this book about Taylor's quest, drive and yes, back-slides, will inspire and make one realize that perseverence and hard work can pay off - sometimes when least expected.Book Review: Definitely Soulful

I have admired Taylor since he first auditioned for American Idol. Being a mom of 20 year olds, I never thought I would be "voting" for someone singing, I just enjoyed watching. When it came time for the final votes, there I was voting and voting on the phone. He captured alot of hearts with his soulful style, his obvious love of the music and the way that he lost himself in his songs. This book reaches right to your heart, bringing back memories of our own childhood and how we all have struggled to get to where we are - how we got to BE the way we are. He tells his life story like it is, bad and good and in a way that we can all understand. Once again, he has my vote! Very well done Taylor, keep reaching for those stars! I started reading this book and couldn't put it down. It's a must read for anyone who plans to try out for American Idol. Taylor gives a great inside view of the show. This book is an honest, open story of Taylor's struggles in life before AI and it's nice to see a nice guy make it in the music business. Wish we had more like him.
