Book Review: What a Charmer!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I honestly felt as if I was having an intimate conversation with Taylor. His stories are charming, straight forward, honest and extremely witty. His drive and determination are admirable qualities and quite inspiring. The book made me chuckle, had me teary eyed at times and always kept me interested.

I didn't expect much and really thought this would be a rehash of his AI win. Although that is in the book, the story is really about an intense, funny young man who persevered to make a living from what he loves most, entertaining people with his music and bringing joy into what can be a very dark world. I liked Taylor on Idol for his smile, talent and positive attitude. Now I can say I also admire him for his drive and determination.Way to go Taylor!

Book Review: The Road To Success
Summary: 5 Stars

The road to success is not easily traveled, this is an inspirational account of what it is like for a struggling musician on that lonely highway to stardom. This is not a candy coated lesson in perseverence,he touches on the stark realities, actions and emotions of a child ,and a young man who beat the odds without losing himself along the way.Taylor tells it like it is and I respect that. This book is a must for anyone who is at risk of throwing the towel in,it will give you the inspiration to follow that dream. In the words of Taylor Hicks "It's amazing what you can achieve when you combine belief, hard work, dedication and hustle."

Book Review: One for the vault
Summary: 5 Stars

Heartful of Soul - a story of a young man's struggles and perseverance. As Taylor as said -- It is all about the music -- and he wasn't about to give up on his dream. I gained a lot of respect for Taylor by reading his book and I have a whole new admiration for him. Even when talking about the rough times, his sense of humor was evident and I believe that to be an endearing quality in anyone. Thanks to Taylor for putting it all out there for us. It couldn't have been very easy for him to write about some of the bad times.

Book Review: Taylor fans will love it
Summary: 4 Stars

I read the book in 4 hours. It was pretty light reading. It was a good, easy read, somewhat sanitized. I most enjoyed Taylor's sense of humor; he was quick to poke fun at himself and the mistakes he made along the way. I felt that there should have been some examples given of what the Idols bickered about on the tour bus, or, alternatively, should have left out some stories that he didn't elaborate on, such as the Willie Nelson tour bus story. One interesting thing was the mention of the now-defunct [...]. I was hoping Taylor would go into more detail about how the weblog formed and got the Soul Patrol rolling. He's a singer, not a writer, and the book was good if you take that into account.
