Book Reviews of Heart and SoulBook Review: Easy to read Summary: 3 Stars
Although the book was easy reading, it just felt like I was reading about every character from each of Meave Binchy's novels. The book never followed one character too long and just when you were enjoying a story it changed. I applaud her for being able to write so well, but the book by the end fell flat for me. I just did not care by the end. It was too hard keeping track of all the characters.
Book Review: Entertaining Summary: 5 Stars
This is a warm good feeling book about ordinary people with ordinary lives, joy, sorrow, struggle, hope and family, all that find the road into the reader's heart. The characters are ultimately interesting and the story quietly compelling. I recommend!
Others I enjoyed are THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE, LUCIA, LUCIA, SOMETHING BLUE and still I'm recommending EXPLOSION IN PARIS.
Book Review: Excellent as always! Summary: 5 Stars
This was a good read. Once again Maeve Binchy creates characters that you care about! Waiting for her next book and hope she doesn't retire!
Book Review: GREAT BOOK Summary: 5 Stars
Maeve Binchy never fails to entertain. This was an excellent example of tying past charactors into a new story.
Book Review: Good summer read Summary: 4 Stars
Maeve Binchy's "Heart and Soul" is a good summer read. Binchy starts with an interesting group of people who work in a Cardiovascular Clinic in Dublin, Ireland. She proceeds to develop their characters in separate chapters. Some of these chapters were much more exciting than others. Most of the story takes place in Dublin. However, one character starts out in Poland. Two other characters are sent to a Greek island. Both these locations add intrigue and adventure to the story. I felt as though I knew all these people. Without giving away the ending, I will say that they all come together in the end for a sort of grand finale.
