Book Review: A Huge Disappointment...

After reading "It Had to Be You", I rushed out and bought "Heaven, Texas", the only Chicago Stars book I had not read at that time. What a huge disappointment! By time I got through half of it, I was pulling my hair out in frustration and had to force myself to read through the rest. The heroine is a doormat who swoons almost every time she sees the hero, the hero is a chauvinist with a head that's much too big for his shoulders, and the way the rest of the secondary characters reacts to the so-called hero kept on sending goosebumps down my arms. All those women who clamored to take the "football" quiz. Dont' they have any self respect at all? And for a thirty year old woman, the heroine is truly TSTL she might as well have lived in the 17th century with all her knowledge and sophistication. This is one book I'm getting off my bookshelf as soon as I can!Sidney

Plain Jane, Gracie Snow. That's how everyone views her, but maybe that's because that is the way Grace views herself. She plays the role to the hilt by dressing in drabby clothes and getting bad 80s perms. However, Gracie is recalled to the living! Her life starts once she leaves her home town and resolves to look for adventure. She meets adventure all right, in the form of Bobby Tom Denton. At heart Bobby Tom is a sensitive simple guy. But he's been conditoned to think that what he needs is a gorgeous bomb-shell when he's really satisified and happy with a cute equally simple girl like Gracie. Unfortunately, for Bobby Tom to realize this, Gracie must go through a lot of pain and heart-break. But despite previous passivity, Gracie knows that she deserves more than second best and forces Bobby Tom to make a choice. And oh boy, he does! Gracie, who knows nothing about football passes Bobby Tom's NFL test with flying colours...a true testament of how much Bobby Tom cares about Gracie.Book Review: A MUST READ!

I loved this book to death, literally! I am on my second copy because I read the first one too many times. I'm not that fond of contempory romances normally, but this novel made me love both Texas bad boys and football. I highly recommend this book, and if you're not crying as much as I was at the end, then I'll eat a Stetson.Book Review: A Must Read

I bought this at a library book sale and took it with me on a plane trip to divert my attention - and it certainly did! Gracie and Bobby Tom (I had to get used to that name) were a hoot and it was very enjoyable. Someone questioned the football quiz - well, things like that do exist, really! Athletes are the supreme egos! Also, BobbyTom's mother has a HOT affair at 52 and it was surprisingly interesting to read. We all would like a Way Sawyer for our 'interesting years'. :-D
