Book Review: A Wonderful Story -- Even for a Man to Read
Summary: 5 Stars

I always pooh-poohed romance novels as junk for women, but Susan Elizabeth Phillips has changed that. Her stories are well-written and Heaven, Texas is the best one I have read so far. The story is believable and moves at a wonderful pace. I heartily recommend it -- even for men.

Book Review: A football quiz & ice cream like it's never been used before
Summary: 5 Stars

Need I say more? Okay, then...RUN, don't walk to your local bookstore to buy this book! (Or purchase it directly from amazon.com!). Anyway, this book was a delightful surprise to me. "A former professional football player as a hero?", I asked myself snidely. YES! This is sooooooo good that I don't have the words. It's just too darn wonderful to pass up. It is original, sexy, funny, and emotional. You will chuckle, laugh out loud, cry, sob, yell at Bobby Tom, swoon at Bobby Tom, and want to kiss Bobby Tom senseless! As I said before, I lack the words so I will just beg...PLEASE, please read this book! Not to mention every other word SEP has ever written!

Book Review: A match made in Heaven
Summary: 4 Stars

What is it about SEP books? Most of them follow the same theme. A down on her luck damsel in distress, a commitment-phobic tough macho man and an opportunity for them to discover in each other the true meaning of being in love.

Though I usually know what to expect, and can predict most of the time what will happen, Susan Elizabeth Phillips always leaves me wanting more. Her romantic writing style is unmatched, witty and fresh!

Life without football is something Bobby Tom Denton never would've imagined. Unfortunately he suffers a career ending injury that forces him to step back and think about what he will now do with the rest of his life. His superstar status lands him an opportunity to shoot a movie in his hometown, and he begrudgingly, albeit amiably accepts.

Being that this is Bobby Tom's first acting gig, the producers of the film hire someone to manage his schedule and make sure he has his act together - this is where Gracie Snow comes in.

From the door, Bobby Tom tries to get rid of Gracie and gives her such a hard time. He even manages to get her fired. Now, with his conscience weighing him down, he talks the producers into rehiring Gracie and from there the two begin an interesting employee vs. employer relationship.

The geeky Gracie is a sweetheart who just wants to be successful in her career. Bobby Tom begins to see the beauty she posses on the inside and begins to soften himself towards her. Gracie is unlike any woman he's met and has a charming innocence about her. The relationship that ensues between the two main characters is a great one!

Great dialogue, interesting plots and secondary characters who are just as appealing makes this an easy, breezy read.
HEAVEN, TEXAS is another SEP winner.
