Book Review: Bobby Tom changes careers. Summary: 4 Stars
Grace "Gracie" Snow grew up in a nursing home (her parents owned it) and now as a 30-year-old virgin, is on her own working for a film company. Her first assignment is to get the very reluctant Bobby Tom Denton (ex Football Player, who's career was cut short early) on the movie set. Bobby Tom has other things in mind though, none of which involve movies or Gracie Snow.
Gracie pushes her way into his life and eventually his heart. She jumps headfirst into his convertible as he tries to get away from her and does everything within her power to get him to Texas. When they arrive she is fired as they are 2 says late. Bobby Tom can't believe this as it was his fault not hers so he works a secret deal with the producer and pays her to be his assistant.
The more they are together the more her love for him grows. She stays headstrong and insists on paying for things herself as she doesn't want to be another person looking for "something from Bobby Tom" she wants to give back to the man she is falling in love with.
The story follows the ups and downs of their falling love and has an explosive ending when Gracie finds out Bobby Tom has been the one paying her.
I liked this story about the wideout. You will remember him from the other stories by Phillips involving the "Chicago Stars". I like that he in the end winds up with a real woman not a trophy. Though I do think it wrapped up a bit quickly!
