Book Review: Fun and light read Summary: 3 Stars
3 1/2 stars for me. SEP is always enjoyable for me on plane rides. That's when I want a light and fun book with good dialog. At first I did not think I was going to like Bobby Tom ( a retired football player for the Chicago Stars) and Gracie seemed too timid. But as the story developed both appealed more to me. Gracie really grew during the story and I like that about her character. Well worth the read.
Book Review: Fun, lighthearted love story Summary: 5 Stars
I really enjoy everything that Ms. Phillips writes. She has a nice light, fun way of writing love and romance that feel like real life. This is a story of an ugly duckling (with a lot of spunk!) falling for a superstar football hunk and proving to him just how special she is. He realizes after his career in football ends because of injuries, just what he really wants out of life. And it's all because of the ugly duckling turned confident in herself. What a great story - lots of fun and one to read if you like a happy ending!
Book Review: Go Gracie !! Summary: 4 Stars
This is the cutest story and so funny, you will laugh out loud. Little Gracie Snow, a moral, upstanding kind of gal is given the assignment to keep ex-football pro turned movie star, Bobby Tom Denton in line. Neither her employer, Willow Craig, nor Bobby Tom himself make any part of this task simple. However, Gracie is a woman of her word and is determined to do whatever it takes to oversee the shenanigans of Bobby Tom. Lots of things go on from beginning to end, but it is a totally enjoyable ride. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I do not like how Gracie berates herself time and time again. There is no reason for her to feel inferior toward Bobby Tom and the constant reference to this was a turn-off to me. All in all "Heaven, Texas" is a great story.
Book Review: Good Summary: 5 Stars
Bobby Tom Denton the famous jock with the Chicago Stars has been injured. This injury ended his football career. He signs a contract to star in a motion picture in his hometownof Heaven, Texas. Bobby Tom has second thoughts about this movie deal and decides to go to Heaven, Texas when he is good and ready.Gracie Snow was hired by the production company of the movie to escort Bobby Tom back to Heaven, Texas. They don't care how she does it, they want him there. Gracie meets Bobby Tom and think he is stuck on himself. Gracie puts her foot down and tells him he is going to show up to do this movie. Bobby Tom gives in and they go to Heaven, Texas together. He decides to get this bright idea to tell everyone there that Gracie is his fiance. There is always somebody there that wants Bobby to meet a relative of theirs, this way Gracie will be his shield. Some of the towns people think that something is strange about this because Gracie is just a small petite plan Jane, not someone Bobby would go with much less marry. Once they agree to this plan sparks fly. I really liked this book. This is the second book in the Chicago Stars football team series. Ms. Phillips always writes an excellent story. I really enjoyed it!
