Book Reviews of Hello Baby!Book Review: Simply the BEST one for this kind! Summary: 5 Stars
When my 2nd baby was on its way, I bought many "baby coming" or "being big brother" sort of books. I didn't just buy, I researched around, read all the reviews from other experienced mothers.....out of all the books that I read (bought or borrowed from library), this one is the best! The pictures show what goes on inside a mother's tummy and has very realistic, but cute and easy to understand and relate to for young children. It also talks about how he (older one) has grown from walking, talking, ridig bike etc., which makes them feel included in the story. My son (3 at that time), loved this book out of all the other similar books. I decided to write a review, because I just gave this book to my friend who is expecting a 2nd one. She and her husband was so surprised, how their daughter is so into the book and ask to read everynight and even sleep with it. I thought I should share this, so that .....i hope your older child will be excited and well-prepared for their sibling to be born soon. Take care!
Book Review: Soon-to-be big sister loves this book! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter is due to become a big sister in a couple weeks, and she loves this book! She wants to read it all the time and look at the pictures. She is 2.5 years old and this book has definitely helped her prepare for what's to come. I like the book because the illustrations are clear and useful, and the book depicts breastfeeding as the natural way that a baby feeds.
Book Review: Terrific! Summary: 5 Stars
This a a SUPER choice for little ones preparing to become older siblings. Although somewhat detailed with regard to "mommy's womb", "umbilical cord" and "baby's development" still enthralling to my 3 year old. She LOVES this book.
The art is great and the book helps the little one to feel like they can really play a special part in the new baby's life. It even focuses on nursing and the benefits behind it. Good for you Lizzy Rockwell!
I highly recommend this one. The best I have found. There are not many choices out there unfortunately.
Book Review: The best book for preparing for a new baby Summary: 5 Stars
We've got a second child on the way, and I have 7 books on the subject for my two year old daughter. This is far and away the best one. She loves it, and the level of detail is perfect for her. The other good ones we have are Joanna Cole's "The New Baby at Your House" (talks a lot about positive and negative feelings an older sibling has about a new baby) and "I'm a Big Sister" (short and sweet, just an introduction to being a big sibling.)
Book Review: Very Well Thought / Written Book - GREAT Illustrations Summary: 4 Stars
This book is GREAT at introducing the concept of pregnancy, and a new baby sibling, to an older sibling. It has a lot of great illustrations (such as a picture of mommy's belly growing, with a baby inside). It provides the perfect amount of description, without being awkward.
