Book Review: .... Sigh ....

I really, really, really wanted to like this book. I really did. I was excited for it to come out and got it from the library as soon as it was available. It seemed like such a good plot premise, and I knew that James Owen was a respectful fan of the Inklings around which the story centers.
I was so sad when I got half-way through and realized I didn't like it at all. I tried to, I really did try. There were a few spots here and there that were good, but over-all I found the writing a wee bit cumbersome, the story undriven, and the characters very different than what, say, I might have thought they would be like.
Anything I say must be taken with a grain of salt as I am a well-nigh religious fan of both C.S. Lewis and Tolkien, and get very grouchy at any literary 'mis-handling' of them, real or imagined. But a warning to those out there like me: you very possibly MAY like this book, but I only suggest reading it first before deciding to buy it.
