My five year old granddaughter is just now getting "into" horses, a stage I remember entering myself when I was a couple of years younger than she is now. One night earlier this month, she and I spent a few hours at the bookstore browsing through a number of horse photography books. This book, "Horses" with photos by Gabrielle Boiselle, stood muzzle and mane above all the others we looked at.
Boiselle's photos are stunning, her subjects even more so. The Gypsy Vanner photos alone are worth far more than the price of this book, but every breed depicted here is presented with love. Boiselle has captured these truly magnificent animals in their many moods and most often out in nature.
I purchased a copy for my granddaughter and one for myself. Though I'm normally pretty particular about how books are treated, I actually suggested to my son that she might like to cut her favorite pictures out of the book (gasp!!) to tack to her bedroom walls so that she can enjoy them everytime she enters her room. They deserve to be seen and treasured as often as possible.
Highly recommended.
