Book Reviews of HotelBook Review: A great page turner Summary: 5 Stars
One great thing about Hailey's writing style is that it keeps you engaged throughout the book. You'll never feel bored at any instance. His research is awesome. 'Hotel' is one such book. Got this immediately after I read 'Airport'. 'Hotel' was an impulsive page turner packed with surprises right from beginning to the end. Just go for it!
Book Review: Detailed, insighful and still on target - 35 years later! Summary: 5 Stars
Hotel
By Arthur Hailey
In 1965, author Arthur Hailey wrote one of his best-known novels, HOTEL . This story was deep in detail, background, theme and character development. It offers reasonably accurate insights over a 5-day period in the life of an early 1960s independent, upscale hotel in New Orleans that is facing many challenges. The book addresses a number of American civil rights issues of the period, as well as contradicting stories of staff loyalty on one hand and dishonesty on the other. It tackles a number of business issues that remain current today, as well the matter of brand expansion in today's hotels versus operating as an independent.

Book Review: Good stories never seem to get dated Summary: 5 Stars
I was attracted to this book after I seeing it on the shelf (while looking for Alex Haley's "Roots") and reading the forward. The development of the intertwining plots held me for the length of the book and reading the last 30 pages left me with a feeling of a job well done (both for me and the author).
Book Review: Hotel: Surprising complex and thought provoking Summary: 5 Stars
Wow! I was not expecting this book to be so rich in detail, context, theme and character development. On one level it's just a very descriptive outline of 5 days in the life of a luxury hotel in New Orleans in the early 1960s. Hotel also takes a critical stance in the civil rights issues of the era. Through carefully crafted characters, it comes out pro-desegregation but does it without wielding a heavy hand. Then at the individual characters and vignettes, the book is about karma and how little decissions can add up to either good things happening or extremely bad things happening.
Book Review: One of the best books ever written Summary: 5 Stars
For fans of books and the tv show LOST on abc. This is a very vivid, amazing book. Hotel weaves many stories together with an ending that will knock your socks off. Like Airport(and many other Hailey books), the last hundred pages will have your heart racing and your blood pressure rising. GREAT book
