Book Reviews of House of M (Marvel Comics)

Book Review: Almost there
Summary: 4 Stars

House of M was almost the ultimate comic book almost completely new with almost completely traditional context. Yeah yeah more hype, well we all know about the xmen world.
Power with the humans, mutants trying to fit into their world. Then there are the renegades (magneto and co). But what happens when not THEIR world, but THE world flips. This new world where Mutants with the power and humans trying to fit in. The renegades in charge of their own lands and corporate businesses, doing world treaties with world powers even the president of the United States.
A place were Doctor Doom in charge of a powerful scientific corporation exchanges handshakes and new business deals with a princesses of an exotic African nation who also has the power to quench the thirst of her people, Storm, and also smiles and shakes hands with properly the two most powerful people in the world, the president of the united states and the leader of the house of M and also the most powerful mutant surplus to NONE, Magneto; and what was these smiles and exchange of handshakes between these four for, for everlasting peace!
Now where do our heroes lye in this new world what is their purposes, better yet what are their life's like in this new world. A world where Wolverine gets a red head and Cyclops is happily married to his blonde heir sweetheart. Is this what they always wanted, they are happy after all. Then there is Peter Parker married has a child, walking down the street with grandma and grandpa. Although his wife is not mary jane, no she is a mega, mega superstar and celebrity actress happy and content being the best in Hollywood. She was better off without him; and he has grandpa back.
Now after wetting your appetite heres a few details that made it not quite the best comic book ever. Firstly there seems no point including the avengers in this tale. Almost all had meaningless parts that could have been filled with characters from the xmen world, almost all, captain america is a very cool character and is more meaningful then any xman including wolverine and I wish they had more slides of him in. Peter Parker is absolutely done wrong in this, he is not funny instead too weepy. The problems this new world cursed the superheroes and their actions they took was done with pretty good art work although the reasons why was not that much meaningful after all they ARE all happy now and the fact that it was not like this before the event is pretty poor argument. Make no mistake this is an Xmen story more then anything and it works. I loved the story and problems it cursed for the characters it was something new. The pictures of the city with mutants integration was cool. Like I said House of M was almost the ultimate comic book almost completely new with almost completely traditional context, almost there.
