Book Reviews of How I Play GolfBook Review: A Great Book! Summary: 5 Stars
Tiger's "how to" book on golf is a resourceful, easy to understand and inspiring tool for improving and appreciating the game of golf. There are many books, tapes, gadgets and gizmos out on the market that claim if used, you too can have a golf game like Tiger Woods. Some may work but many don't deliver. How can you go wrong with a book written by the man himself? Tiger has done an excellent job in articulating and sharing his passion for the game of golf. In reading Tiger's book I was reminded of another book called "WORKING ON YOURSELF DOESN'T WORK" written by Ariel and Shya Kane. Just as Tiger's book is a tool for playing your best golf game, the Kane's book is a tool for living an awesome, wonderful life. I highly recommend both of these books.
Book Review: A MUST READ for any golfer Summary: 5 Stars
Read HOW I PLAY GOLF by Tiger Woods with the editors of GOLF DIGEST . . . actually, make that I also looked at this book . . . it has hundreds of magnificent photos, many of them from his winning tournaments . . . I very much liked it--even though I no longer play the game . . . it was fascinating to hear what Woods has to say with respect to how he hits various shots . . . in addition, I liked his recollections of how he learned the game from his dad and how he competes today against the best players on courses from around the world. One chapter ("How to Master the Mind"), in particular, caught my attention because it applies to virtually any situation in life . . . he presents the following building blocks to mental toughness: Learn from your experiences, both positive and negative. Take ownership of your mistakes. Never make the same mistake twice. Don't be afraid to turn a negative into a positive. Never beat yourself up because there are plenty of people who will do it for you. But in the book he does more than just list the above; he gives specific examples from his own career. And I'm still laughing at his top 5 mind games: 1. Really lean on a drive, then react as if you miss-hit it. 2. On your way to a drive that you've nutted, take a quick look at your opponent's ball as you walk by, hesitate for a moment as if you think it's yours, then proceed to your drive. 3. Concede two or three short puts, then make your opponent putt a kick-in. 4. Make your opponent putt several gimmes, then concede a questionable two-footer. 5. After you've outdriven an opponent on a day marred by swirling winds, take a club you have no intention of hitting on your apporach shot and make a few practice swings. If he's stealing your club selection, you might get him to guess wrong. All in all, this is the PERFECT GIFT for any golfer that you might know! And don't forget to get a copy for yourself, too, if you play the game.

Book Review: A book I Keep coming back Too Summary: 5 Stars
I bought Tiger's book several months ago as a I started learning to play golf in earnest. My experience has been similar to those others who have reviewed this book - excellent! However, one point I wanted to add was that I find that the book as a wealth of specific points (such as tee and ball address positions depending on club selection etc), that at first seem too detailed, though ultimately are sought for as your level of play increases. Even the ordering of the book's chapters at first seem odd (the swing is somewhere in the middle), but it's fair to say make much more sense once you've been using it for some few months. This alone indicates it's excellent value for money as a resource of pictures, advice and lessons learned you can keep coming back too as your game progresses and you're ready to move onto the next level. And when Tiger hands over some golfing advice - you pay attention
Book Review: A good but not great book Summary: 3 Stars
Having read this book cover to cover and thoroughly enjoyed it, I have to to say it is a good book, though not a great book.If you are thinking of buying this book as a means to establishing a sound repeating swing, I would strongly recommend reading Faldos, A Swing For Life, first. It will provide a solid foundation for the advanced techniques in this book. Tiger is no doubt the best the game has ever seen, but I think Faldos book will help most amateurs more.
