This is a great book for fun weekend projects for the family. Some have stated that they would like to have seen more advanced houses like at the Grove Park Inn, but I can tell you from having tried to make big houses that there is no way to put those instructions in a book. Instructions for one house would have been bigger than this book and a lot of it is improvised. Personally, the one star review is totally uncalled for. Read the back cover. It clearly states 1 basic house plane and delivers on the rest of what it states.
But back to the book, the steps are all laid out for someone to follow and presents a lot of neat ideas for people to create their own or give it a different look than the houses presented in the book. The book is full of photos. There seems to be numerous pictures on every page that corresponds to what you are working on and every photo is in color. There has to be over 200 photos in this book. The timeline is a major help on knowing how long to expect at each step and allows me to schedule my house. My personal favorite is the Easter and will be doing this with my daughter this coming Easter. A must have for gingerbread fans.
