Book Review: No Secrets; Just Good Advice

The author McLaren gives the male some pointers. To begin with, he should not fear rejection, because rejection is normal. Second, what the male needs is practice...practice...practice. "Experience requires experiences" (p. 11) as he puts it.
McLaren also gives tips for introductions based on small talk. Again, practice is crucial. The author distinguishes between substantive compliments that women appreciate versus cheap, throwaway ones that mean nothing to the girl. The right questions to ask a girl are open-ended ones, not ones that can be answered simply "yes" or "no". Self-disclosure, if done correctly, is valuable. McLaren also shows how a woman may test a man by feigning being offended, and how the male should respond (neither with a wimpy apology, nor with haughty defiance).
Many women love dancing, and this is an excellent place to meet them. So are classes where women can be found.
