Book Review: 10,000 foot level view of the situation - NO DETAILS

There are some very accurate reviews of this book already so I won't go ad nausem into repeating details.
I bought this book looking for something more in-depth to help with the majority of the Emergency situations most Americans would face daily: This was not it.
First: let me say that it seems a little troublesome that it seems that 90% of these 5 STAR reviews were given on the very day the book was released. This leads me to believe that most of these 5 STAR reviews were not from folks that actually read the book but from followers of his survivalist website that wanted to give him a higher rating on Amazon.
Second: If you do not already have your own bunker, or a 100 acre retreat with concertina wire, lookout towers, specialized 4X4 vehicles, and a full year's supply of food and a five year supply of ammo and willing to kill anyone that crosses onto your property without hesitation, then this is NOT the book for you. When the book starts mentioning Flame Throwers as an optional weapon platform, you know it has gone off track.
Third: The book is from a 10,000 foot level view of the situation. It simply glances over things. There are no charts, hardly any lists, simply NO DETAILS. Its an OVERVIEW at best. Definitley Not a detailed "How-To" book or manual. Plus the scenarios all seem to focus around you having a well stocked, well armed, mountain retreat in an area rich in supplies like food, timber, animals and espeically water. Living in a southern desert state, he lost me when he mentions that water can easily be found by simply walking a few miles.
If you are looking for a book on "HOW TO" survive anything but a post-apocalyptic, end of the world, where the zombies are upon us - then you might want to reconsider. With all that said -- really - the only thing that honestly bothered me was not enough detail. I honestly believe that Mr. Rawles has the knowledge to write a good "survivalist" manual, but he just simply tried to cover too many topics and spent allot of time glancing over the obvious.
On the other hand I also read "Handbook to Practical Disaster Preparedness for the Family" by Bradley which I gave 5 stars to. Totally night and day difference in approaches. Bradley's book answers questioned and educated me on what I need for water purification, ammo, which weapons are better than others, what kind of home generator is right for my house, how to store food, etc etc. And it was wrote with normal emergencies (Hurricanes-Tornadoes-Civil Unrest) in mind.
