Book Review: a never ending inspiration Summary: 5 Starsmy parents gave this book to me last year before my first piano recital. i had been playing piano for a long time but had never actually preformed, and now my teacher was having me, a freshmen in highschool, play at a recital where everyone else was in college. i was completely nervous and unsure that i would be able to play up to the same level as the college students. she handed me a gift bag and when i saw the book inside (i had heard the song before and knew what it was about) i was really touched and knew that my parents really supported and believed in me. when i read it after the recital that night lying in my bed and listening to the song on the cd that came with it, i cried almost the entire length of the book. it's indescribable how awesome it felt to be loved that much. since then i have read it every once in awhile when something has got me down or im doubting myself and it always inspires me. this is definitely a book to give to someone you love to help give them hope and a stronger belief in themselves.
Book Review: Really Great Song and Book Summary: 5 StarsMy mom got this book for me at my 5th grade graduation and it was really sweet, and i liked it. A few days ago i was sitting in my room andi opened it to read it again, and it was great. This is the cutest gift ever and you should buy it.
Book Review: All the Things I Wish for My Daughter Summary: 5 StarsWhen I first really listened to this song and the lyrics, I remember thinking to myself "this is everything I wish for my daughter!" A few months later, I found this beautiful book, which expands on the song lyrics, and I knew I had to get it for her upcoming graduation. She graduated a week ago, and today, she has her Open House, where I intend to read the lyrics to her, and then play the song, asking her to dance with me. This song says everything a parent wants and wishes for their child, but, as so often happens, we somehow can't find the words to say. I hope she still feels small when she stands beside the ocean. I hope she sees that living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking. I hope she nevers loses her sense of wonder. No one has ever expressed all the things I wish for her better than these lyrics do. Wherever she goes, whatever she does, I hope she takes this book with her, and takes the words to heart. If she does, I will have done my job as her mother. I hope she dances the dance of life, and never looks back and regrets what she missed by being afraid. This book is a wonderful gift for any parent to give their child, especially on those occasions that mark a big change in life, like graduation. I believe it's something they will cherish forever, because it reminds them of how much you love them, and all the dreams and hopes you have for them. They will know, in no uncertain terms, how very special they are to you.
Book Review: Life's Dance Summary: 5 StarsAs a dance instructor I am naturally drawn to any book that features the word 'dance' in the title... I was a fan of the song before I found the book, and couldn't help but pick it up in the bookstore. I immediately sat down on the floor and read the whole thing cover to cover, and I knew it was going home with me. Since then I have bought it for countless special people in my life- from new graduates to loved ones for birthdays or just a simple reminder that life is a dance... and one you should never sit out!
