Book Review: A Good Introduction to Coffee

I was hoping for a book that would teach me the basics of how to make my favorite coffee house drinks at home and this book didn't disappoint. I was happy to learn that I don't have to become a coffee snob or invest in an expensive expresso machine with a complicated milk steamer to enjoy a great homemade mocha latte or cappuccino.
Part one of this book is a tutorial about coffee beans, coffee machines, brewing techniques, how to properly steam milk, and tips for creating cream art. The second part of the book comprises over 100 recipes for various hot and iced coffee drinks with names like Cafe Mudslide, Toffee Coffee Latte, Dutch Mocha Mint Latte, Iced Orange Mochaccino, and Orient Express Martini.
There are lots of color photos which makes this a pretty book to look at, but the information itself is a good introduction for anyone wanting to learn the basics of home brewed coffee drinks. Someone who already knows a lot about coffee making can skip the first section of how-to's and enjoy the recipes. Purists who believe coffee should only be enjoyed black should skip this book altogether.
