Book Reviews of IllusionBook Review: alternative revolution Summary: 4 Stars
I can't add much to what the previous reviewers have said. Volsky is skilled in her genre. This is probably the best of her works. She skillfully depicts the unrelenting terror of what it must be like to live under a system like the Committee for Public Safety during the French Revolution or the Bolsheviks in Russia. As with any good story teller she creates characters that you can identify with and care for, in this case in the paralell world of Vonahr, which in many ways resembles 18th century France, except for the magic. It's an entertaining read and you can't ask for more than that.
