Book Reviews of I'm Not the New MeBook Review: Total mind-candy... I loved every bite! Summary: 5 StarsI had such a blast reading this book. Wendy McClure nailed the whole "diet" "body image" "Does this make my butt look big?" headache to the wall. I read this book in a mere 12 hours (how is that possible???) and loved every 'chapter.' I identified with the author's plight so much, I swear this stuff must have been pulled from my personal journals. I have already recommended this to friends and clients as a refreshing, easy read to comfort those who often get stressed or overwhelmed in their weight loss/body image journey. Thank you Wendy for being a real person and letting us see ourselves in your writing!
Book Review: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER! Summary: 5 StarsIf you don't laugh your ass off while reading this book, you must be ridin' the short bus!
Book Review: You have to read this book!!!! Summary: 5 StarsI really recommend reading this book. If you have ever had body image issues, dating issues, mother/daughter issues, shopping issues, etc. or lived in the Chicago area, you will laugh out loud. "I'm Not the New Me" was a quick easy read. Wendy's writing style is like having a series of conversations with a really good friend. She jumps around from childhood to present day, sharing bits and pieces of her life with a sense of humor that runs from bawdy to juvenile to sarcastically dry to self depreciating to caustic in the flip of a page. Like a good friend, she trusts the reader to laugh with her, not at her and to be able to share the joys and pain that we all experience in life. Plus the weight watcher cards in the center of the book are simply hilarious. Read this book, you will not be disappointed. Hope Wendy is busy writing book #2!
Book Review: Finally! Summary: 5 StarsYes, finally a book about someone like me. I related to so many of Wendy's stories because I've lived them too, it's just she wrote them in a way that had me crying and laughing at the same time. If the title tempted you to even click on this amazon page then don't think about it any longer...BUY IT! Wendy McClure's writing is so "reader freindly", you can read the book in a short time (only took me two evenings), or just a chapter at a time, either way it's absolutly worth it. I know I sound like a commercial or a best friend but I'm not, I'm just a girl who stumbled on the book and I'm now a fan. Don't forget to check out her website www.poundy.com ENJOY!
Book Review: I'm already jonesing for more... Summary: 5 StarsI love this book - I just love it. I love how matter-of-fact it is and that it lacks some corny major epiphany; it is just a truthful portrait of a woman's struggles that's very truthful and very VERY funny. Wendy makes you want to karaoke with her. She lets it all hang out, and I like it all.
