Book Reviews of Immediate Action

Book Review: Brilliant...
Summary: 5 Stars

Having never read one of McNabs book, i was unsure what to expect at first, but this book is excellent. with a combination of action, romance and humor, McNab has created an excellent book, which not only gives you an insight into McNabs life, but also into the SAS, and their movements and missions....excellent book :)

Book Review: BUY McNAB BOOKS!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I rate all of Andy Mcnab books as 5 star plus! Lots of action and tension make these books a thrilling read. The atmosphere in the novels is created without any elaboration or over the top descriptions. Something about the way McNab writes makes the reader feel like a bystander watching the charachters` every moves. You don`t watch the action though, you feel it!
Be warned though, once you start reading you will struggle to stop!

Book Review: Good, but not that good...
Summary: 3 Stars

I read this book after reading Bravo Two Zero, which is a really good read. Unfortunately i do not believe this book quite matches it, as this is mostly self indulgant waffle. A much better book on the same lines is "First into action" by Duncan Falconer.

Book Review: Excellent read by a truely great military writer.
Summary: 5 Stars

I read the book after reading Bravo Two Zero. This book competes with the other but Immediate Action goes into much more detail.Sometimes the book contains technical jargon which some readers may find perplexing, but for a military nut like me it was sheer class. There are also great pictures inside which help understand some of the conditions that this elite - group fight in.The best part of the book , in my humble opinion, was when Andy had to pass selection. It will make you wince in pain and gawp at the book as some of the things done are unbelievable. Immediate action is in my personal top three and i would strongly reccomend this book to anyone slightly interested in that sort of thing. Finally may i congratulate Andy Mcnab(if that is his real name !)on a superb read which gives an amazing insight into The SAS.The only problem with this book is that it finished to soon and kept me up to 3 am as i couldn't put the book down. This book MUST BE READ!!!

Book Review: Who dares, wins
Summary: 5 Stars

Here we have a wonderful action-book. McNab writes down his war experiences, his training-period stories and he perfectly describes the selection to enter the Regiment. When reading this masterpiece, you can have an idea on what does "being in" means. In addition, it's full of hylarious episodes...you'll often find yourself laughing. The book is also illustrated. In two words: BUY IT!
