Book Reviews of In Me Own Words: The Autobiography of BigfootBook Review: Really *know* Bigfoot by reading this book Summary: 5 StarsI always thought Bigfoot was a scary monster with no soul or real feelings. This book disabused me of that opinion from the first page. Bigfoot is not a vampire. Bigfoot is an aspiring actor. Bigfoot hates his cat. Bigfoot writes poetry. I never knew. Thanks to this raw, emotionally vulnerable book I feel like I really know Bigfoot. I'm a different person now. Thank you, Bigfoot.
Book Review: I almost peed my pants Summary: 5 StarsThis is one of the funniest books I've ever read. The illustrations are amazing! They appear to be simple watercolors but are really essential to the story line (if you want to call it that). Bigfoot talks quite openly about his life, his emotions and ambitions. Bigfoot has feelings too. He covers issues ranging from having a tough childhood, not being able to have a date for the prom, weight and body hair issues, and his relationship with Koko the gorilla. You come to realize that Bigfoot is a brilliant misunderstood genius who wishes that his stalkers would leave him alone, but at the same time craves fame and fortune.
Book Review: If you want your friends to look at you funny... Summary: 4 StarsIf you want your friends to look at you funny, buy this book and show it to them. I bought it based on the recommendation of some author on NPR, and I hunted it down, it's HILARIOUS! Warning though: not all your friends will get it. Too bad for them! THe drawings are quirky and funny, the text almost made me wet my pants. My only complaint is it's too short! If you like this, order "A Really Super Book About Squirrels", by the same illustrator. THe text isn't nearly as goofy, but the drawings are just great.
Book Review: TOO FUNNY!!! Summary: 5 Starsthis book was absolutely hillarious, every page has you holding a new stitch in your side because it's so funny it hurt. granted the book has nothing to really do with bigfoot its the funnyest thing i ever read, a definite must read!!!
Book Review: Completely hilarious! Summary: 5 StarsOkay, so if you're someone who like to laugh, and I mean fall off the couch, laugh til you cry, roll on the floor screaming kind of laughter... then this book is for you. The illustrations are really great but the twisted (in a good way) writing is what makes it amazing -- Bigfoot is hanging out in a NJ airport lounge with Koko the gorilla, playing in a Seattle grunge band called The Tinkles... it goes on and on. Roumieu's brilliantly original in every way -- there's nothing like this book.
