Book Review: Ascerbic wit of eternally shooting star

Marc Almond writes books as he would a gossip letter to his best mate - indeed, that is who you empathise with when you read his tales. This book is somewhat deeper than 'Tainted Life' as it is dealing with an adult Marc without the primadonna feel of his younger life. He is a witty, observant host and a pleasure to read. This book will make you smile and make you cringe as he relays happenings with a brutal honesty and ascerbic tongue. I was not a big fan of Marc prior to reading 'Tainted Life' for the first time earlier this year (I was a bit young to appreciate his heyday!) but that book got me hooked and I was eager to read 'Pleasure Palace'. I was not disappointed. Marc Almond is a fascinating person and surprisingly good writer - may the road rise at his feet. As an aside, may his recovery from his recent accident also be swift.Should he ever write a third book it will be firmly on my list. Read and enjoy!
