Book Review: So nearly a great book
Summary: 4 Stars
About half of this book is an absolutely fascinating read which you will find impossible to put down. The vivid and sometimes harrowing account of Durant's capture and subsequent treatment is extremely well written. My only problem with the book is that it could have been about half the length. While the first half of the book does deal with Durant's Somali nightmare, the second half spends more time looking at his career as a whole during his time in the Armed Forces. Interesting in itself, but not what I was expecting.
Having said this, I read the whole book in about a day flat, so maybe I'm being hyper-critical?
