I bought this book yesterday and started reading it early evening and couldn't put it down until I'd finished it.
It tells the story of 9 year old Suleiman who lives in Tripoli with his parents. He is an innocent who suddenly becomes aware of the poltical situation around him and the affect this is having on his parents. It is a story of family, love, betrayal and it is beautifully written, emotionally powerful and opened my eyes to a regime and country (Libya) that I knew nothing about. I was completely entranced and want to recommend it to everyone I know.
