Book Reviews of InfidelBook Review: A must-read for all, politicians included Summary: 5 Stars
This is a gripping book with a fascinating autobiographical story, as well as a focused analysis of what Muslim communities in the West today are like. Ali has the experience, as a formerly observant Muslim and (brief) member of the Muslim Brotherhood, to provide insights and to make an excellent case for every point.
It's must reading for all politicians, as well as all Americans.
This could be the most memorable book I've read all year.
Book Review: A profound experience Summary: 5 Stars
I recommend this book to everyone, especially those who live in a western society and may never have to experience the shocking reality of true Islam. I was raised Christian, but I've been skeptical of the existance of a god since high school, and this book has given me a greater understanding. This book had a huge impact on my life because it gave me a new perspective on true Islam and religion in general.
Book Review: A story that stays with you Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the most thought provoking books I have ever read. Ayaan Hirsi Ali gives a detailed portrayal of her life story and growing up Muslim. All that she writes about will stay with you and will make you think.
Her amazing life journey had me taken through several countries and through a culture as a woman I could have never in my wildest dreams knew existed. I had heard about female genital mutilation, but I never truly knew of the real horrors of it. I could also never imagine a mother telling her child to hit before you are hit as a survival of the fittest strategy. Alot of things she writes about are not what we in the westernize world are taught, and it seems very foreign to the point of culture shock.
Please pick up the book and read it with an open mind. I can definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about the struggles of women around the world.
Book Review: A thought provoking must-read Summary: 5 Stars
What I loved most about this book is the author's courage, strength, and candor. What an incredible life she has had! I found her opinions on Islam and the Muslim culture very thought provoking, and pondered them long after I finished the book. She writes about things that many people don't want to believe or think about. This is a perspective-expanding book, and I have recommended it to many people I know.
Book Review: A very telling book about the truth of islamic society. Summary: 5 Stars
In the words of someone who was raised Islamic herself. This is the true story of Ayaan Hirisi Ali who is from Somalia. As a female growing up in Islamic culture Ayaan suffered genital mutilation, oppression and physical abuse. She is very candid but not condemming about the wasy females are treated in her country. She escaped an arrainged marriage and fled to Sweden where she was surprised to find how helpful and compassionate the people were. She became a Swedish citizen and served in public office. Her biggest fight was to open the eyes of the Swedish government to the brutality of Islamic culture. A very well written and frank autobiography.
