Book Reviews of Inkdeath (Inkheart Trilogy)Book Review: A Fine Ending to a Wonderous Trilogy Summary: 5 Stars
Inkdeath was a tremendous ending to one of the most original trilogies in children's liturature. This is not really a tale of magic, but rather a tale of the love of liturature and of words. In Inkheart, the tale was all about the magic of a great story, and how hypnotic a great story teller can be. Inkspell deals with the magic of getting lost in a great book (literally.) Inkdeath is about the power of words by themselves, how words can change and control us. The great duel is not one of swords or knights, but of writers trying to out write and out wit each other.
In Inkdeath you will find fairies are blue, people can talk to fire, and great writers only need great readers to bring their tales to life. There is a danger however, Funk's writing is magical enough you may just find yourself lost in a new world.......
Book Review: A Great Book Summary: 5 Stars
In "Inkdeath" Corenelia brings this great trilogy to a conclusion... or does she? Dustfinger is dead, the Adderhead is apparently immortal (thanks to Mo's White Book), and Ombra has fallen into the his sinister hands . Things look pretty bleak for Meggie and company. The Blue Jay is the only person standing between chaos and the regular people of the Inkworld, but is he up to the task? Will Fenoglio get control of his story again, and is that a good thing?
This exciting installment in the Inkheart trilogy is my favorite thus far. The writing and translation are superb, the characters vivid, the story twisting and turning, and the tension mounts to a fever pitch. There is a bit of violence and some bad language (just PG stuff), so parents of the youngest readers and listeners this book might need to wait a few years for you. However, adolescents and their parents you have some great hours ahead of you as you read this and talk about it together. I am just reading it for my enjoyment and I am 35. This is good fiction
Book Review: A fitting end Summary: 5 Stars
The end of the trilogy is wonderful. The second one was a little dissapointing, but this one is great. A great series for young and old.
Book Review: A good ending wrap up, though not the best Summary: 4 Stars
You know how the first book starts out strong, the second carries on, and the third... well, the third wraps it up as neatly as it can, but not with the same gusto as the first two. This is still very much worth reading to finish out the series, but don't expect great twists and turns, and you have to keep up with the character count a but more. All in all, a good read.
Book Review: A great ending to a fantastic series! / Info. for busy and conscientious parents Summary: 5 Stars
This whole series was imaginative and engrossing. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it. A few things I would want to know if I were a parent considering this series for my child: 1) There is violence and death. It's not too gory or scary, but it does open up the potential for discussions about death and life after death . . . 2) There are a few quotes at the beginning of chapters that some parents might want to talk to their child about. There are only a few, but the ones I am thinking of portray God going through a process of trial and error as a process of creation. 3) some of the characters and quotes use a few unsavory words. It only happens a few times. It's always best to read a book before your child does; however, if you are not able too, I hope this is helpful.
